The Annandale Boys & Girls Club Soccer Program boasts an unparalleled record of success. Beginning in the early 1960's, the ABGC introduced soccer on a large scale to Northern Virginia. Starting with a 4 team recreation league, our founder Everett Germain pushed the limits of growth. He introduced boys and girls soccer into local high schools, local colleges, and professional leagues. The staff has repeatedly been recognized at the local, state, and national levels for contributions to the sport.
The ABGC has won many championships at the national, regional, metropolitan, and local levels. However, the primary focus has always been to provide recreational soccer opportunities to boys and girls ages 4 to 19. Many exceptional players started with the club's recreational program, then took advantage of Camps, Clinics, and Travel Team opportunities. Varsity High School and College programs have actively recruited and provided scholarships to many ABGC players. The professional soccer ranks have also provided opportunities for some former ABGC players.
Some former ABGC Soccer players include, Bill Hamid (DC United Goalkeeper), John Stollmeyer (Mens National Team) and Jill Ellis (2x World Cup winning Womens Coach).
